AAPI Focused Therapy

A space where you don’t have to explain the weight you carry.

For many AAPI individuals, our culture often serves as a blueprint shaping how we understand ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. Cultural values and beliefs can become deeply instilled and internalized, influencing what we do and who we become.

You may be carrying the weight of shame, shaped by beliefs and roles you’ve learned to hold. You may notice patterns of over-functioning, perfectionism, or difficulty slowing down. You may think there is something wrong with you or you are broken and need to be fixed. You may be navigating your identity, balancing external expectations with a growing desire to live a life more aligned to you.

Here, therapy offers a space where you don’t have to hold everything on your own. Together, we’ll explore your experiences to understand what has shaped you, what continues to serve you, and what you may be ready to shed. This is brave work that will honor your cultural details while supporting a more grounded, authentic relationship with yourself.

In our work together, we may:

  • Explore how expectations and responsibility have shaped your sense of self

  • Understand patterns of over-functioning, perfectionism, and shame

  • Build safety in feeling emotions and prioritizing your needs

  • Navigate family dynamics while strengthening a sense of autonomy

  • Strengthen self-trust, self-worth, and self-identity

  • Unlearn and relearn who you are

We begin by honoring the path that led you here, creating space for your return home to yourself.
